The MiridMan

Public distribution paused · September 2026

Mirid is preparing for its next chapter.

Mirid is designed to make open-source, private AI conversation and creativity accessible to adults aged 18 and over. You should not have to be an “AI person” to use it.

It brings the work of open-source AI developers into a more approachable interface, with local use intended to give you greater control over your conversations. Mirid grew out of my personal AI workstation, Eloquent.

The public runtime is currently locked. New installations that depend on downloading it may not complete, so I’m not directing visitors to the existing installer. There is no confirmed date for reopening public distribution.

I’m Bernard Peter Fitzgerald, Mirid’s independent Australian developer. I’m seeking funding, a development partnership or an acquisition conversation to support the project’s next stage.

Alongside Mirid, I write about information, institutional authority and the right to decide. ShitScience and Nepravda put some of those questions into public view through satire and editorial work.

ShitScience / SSICED ↗

A fictional research institute exploring how credentials, presentation and circular citation can manufacture the appearance of authority.

Nepravda ↗

A companion editorial publication with institutional satire and clearly labelled, sourced nonfiction commentary.

Boxil.ai ↗

An AI research subsidiary of mirid.ai, based in Dalian. Explore the Roy model programme, technical documentation and research.
